Minutemen: noun. A nativist, anti-immigration militia group. The Iowa chapter is planning a convention in Des Moines on the afternoon of October 7th.
Minuet: noun. 1. a slow, stately ballroom waltz for two, popular especially in the 18th century. 2. A pun on “minute,” naming SURJ arts-based response to the Iowa Minutemen on October 7th.
Minuet MANY: noun. An arts-based unity celebration and fundraiser to reject anti-immigrant nativism. October 7th, 1:30-2:30 at Iowa Capitol Stage. Organized in response to accountability group request. Minuet MANY Unity Celebration will feature local youth musicians, a participatory flash mob dance (all invited), and a fundraiser in support of Al Éxito and Dream Iowa.
Showing (Up): noun. Stand up for an Iowa that welcomes all, no matter where we come from or how we got here.
